•Pray for the local churches in the Houston and surrounding areas and fellow believers that they may have an abundance from which they can give, help and love.

•Pray for the safety and protection of the organizations that are actively on the ground assisting in relief efforts. (download list of organizations you can pray over)

•Pray for our eyes to be open so that we may help and support the needs of evacuees that come into our community.

•Pray for our ears to be open to hear and respond to the needs as they arise.

Additional ways you can pray for Houston.

I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:1-6

You do not have to go far to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Dallas Help for Harvey has been established locally to provide the opportunity to help the hurricane evacuees that are relocating to the DFW Area. Dallas Help for Harvey is a coordinated effort between the American Red Cross North Texas Region, The Salvation Army DFW Metroplex Command, the North Texas Food Bank and VolunteerNow. Contact them directly to see how you can go and help!

Trained Disaster Relief volunteers are needed now and in the future. Both of the Baptist conventions are providing training opportunities for those desiring to become a Disaster Relief Volunteer. Please note to volunteer with SBTC Disaster Relief or Texas Baptist Men you will have to go through their specific training. (DBA Disaster Relief accepts trained volunteers from either convention training.)
